Searching For Calm In Difficult Times ~

Well, yes.

Yes it has been just over 3 months since my last blog post.

I didn't mean for it to happen, but time slips away.

You see, my husband was laid off again.

Second time in 15 months.

So, I have been searching for calm.

My family.

My art.

My garden.

My writing.

These are my quiet safe places.

Watching the purples come to life ~

The pinks unfurl ~

Painting ~

(Sold but will soon be offered in a print version)

and more painting ~

Clearing my mind of worry.

Staying focused.

Sky watching....

Heart shaped clouds ~

Firelight sunsets ~

and tree bones ~

Only one new collage ~

This piece was created for the upcoming book "Welsh In The Old West" published by A Raven Above Press

"Old Bill and Wind Blossom"

The original framed art has sold but you can get this piece in a Print Version:

And....these 3 pieces will soon be off to The Dream Factory in Frankfurt, Germany ~

"The Haunting of La Llorona"

"The Beckoning of Leopold and Octavia"

and....

"The Burning of Eulalia"

As the days swiftly fly by,

waiting, waiting, waiting for that new job, I am keeping busy.

Continuing work on my fairy tale.

Composing character studies.

Tending to my garden.

Uncertainty floats all around.

One. Day. At. A. Time.

That's all I can do...

One day at a time.

Oh the Craziness...

Hello There:

It's me...bet you forgot about me, didn't you?

It's been crazy busy these last few weeks...months really.  I want to share a few things with you, but I don't want this blog post to be 100 pages long, so I'm going to try and sum up my busy-ness with few words and some photos.

Over the course of the last few weeks, I've been preparing for another art show.  This show, entitled: "Down the Rabbit Hole" is a group show inspired by the art of "Alice in Wonderland" ~

I'm super duper happy with my new piece for the show...

"Mi Corazon por Alicia" ~

...and, here's the piece all framed up and ready for delivery ~

Because this is an "Alice" themed show, this piece is going in as well.

I'm so happy to be included in this show and I'm looking forward to the opening reception this Saturday.  Should be a lot of fun!

In March, I was honored to be invited to a private preview of the new show, "I Want to Be First", at Kat Von D's Wonderland Gallery ~  (Sorry about this blurry photo.  My husband secretly snapped it behind my back while I was talking to Ms. Von D).

It was also the delivery day for Ms. Von D's custom piece  ~

"Piaf Sings the Blues"  ~

Kat's cat, Piaf, is so photogenic.  Really fun to work with his image ~

So, in between the comings and goings of my Everydays, I've also decided to add a new category in my Online Shop... "Affordable, Original Watercolors".  I just think it's so important to offer small, affordable pieces of original art in this terrible economy.  How nice to find something colorful and fun in your mailbox....along with all the bills.  When people are struggling to pay their mortgage and put food on the table, it's very easy for luxuries like expensive pieces of art to be put on the back burner.  So...my hope is that I can help to bring art into your home at an affordable price.

The images are 5" x 7" with a border large enough to allow for framing.  They are $14.00 each....which is the same price as an art print!  So, for $14.00, you can get an original, one of a kind, numbered watercolor.  I'm hoping to offer 5 a week.  This is also a way to help me create almost everyday!

Here is the first piece created for the series (sold) ~

"Little Tangles"

and....here's the second piece in this affordable series  (currently available) ~

"Find Me"

In between the art and my gardening and my other daily "stuff", I took time out for a new profile picture, which I need for a new art adventure.

And...just for fun, here's a picture of some of our Easter eggs ~

I guess this brings me to a somewhat current point in my crazy life!

Also, let me say that I am not sure what the heck is going on with the font in this post.  Blogger must be doing some updates...so, just overlook the weirdness of today's changing font!

Thank you so much for stopping by.  Hope to see you super soon!

Until Next Time:

Celebration Deal...

Wow...I bet you didn't think you'd see me back here so quickly, did you?

I am so giddy about being published in the newest issue of Pasticcio Quartz, and I want to celebrate it in some way.  So...I decided to share the celebration with you.

During the holiday shopping season, all purchases from my online shop will come with a free print of "An Unexpected Visitor"...(Excluding ACEO print purchases).

My prints are super rich in color and are printed out with high quality inks on HP Premium Plus Photo Paper. The image itself measures 4" x 6", but the print comes, centered, on a full sheet of 8.5" x 11" paper, so you have ample room to mat and frame.

There may be a give-away in the near future as well, but since most of my blog friends are having a terrible time leaving comments, I don't know if I'll do the give-away here or somewhere else.  I'll let you know!

Thank you so much for all the kind emails regarding my art work and the publication of my "Little Red" piece. I appreciate each and every email.

If you have any questions, please feel free to email me at gerushiasworld@aol.com.

Until Next Time
xoxo
