Journeys, Adventures, Voyages and Dreams ~

Journeys

Adventures

Voyages

I love travels.

Not always or only the kind that requires transportation.

Sometimes, the best journeys are thoughtful journeys...

Back in time.

A time before we were born.

Autumn in the Ozarks....1919 ~

Dream Journeys...

The real Gerushia.  I dream of her often ~

Sometimes, a journey can take you no further away than your own kitchen.
A beginner's stroll through bread baking ~

Remembering can be a journey.

Past homes.
My little stone cottage that I miss terribly every single day ~

Dirt Roads ~

Secret churches.  Abandoned through time ~

Wanderings through restful places ~

Goldie, Minnie, Lilah and Grace ~

Emerald fields ~

and journeys into the great unknown ~

Often times, the best travels simply escort you down your own hallway ~

Journeys in music.  Setting the pace for my work in the studio ~

Journeys

Adventures

Voyages

My art allows me to visit worlds.
To take journeys.
Meet new people.

Petula ~

Oh how Petula dreams of exotic travels and adventures.

She's a brave girl.
Leaving her home with nothing more than a single suitcase and a nickel in her coat pocket.

It was Petula that led me into the dreamy world of travel and adventure this week.

Weaving pictures of dirt roads, magical moons and suitcases.

Thank you for taking this journey with me.

Today's Daily Special ~ "The Window Watchers."

Hello There ~

Just a quick pop in today as I am busy in the studio working on a secret project!

I wanted to let you know that my newest piece, entitled:  "The Window Watchers" can now be purchased in print form ~

The original has sold.  Which makes me very happy and very sad all at once.  It's always hard to say good-bye to a piece I've been working on for a long time.

If you're interested in the print version, you can get it today for only $10.00.  I don't normally offer a brand new print as my "Daily Special" but so many people have been asking about this piece, I decided to do a "Daily Special."

If you're interested, just click Right Here.  It's that simple!

My prints are normally $14.00, but my Daily Specials are $10.00.

The print image is 4" x 6" on a single sheet of 8.5" x 11" HP Premium Plus Photo Paper.  This leaves a great big border which is helpful when matting and framing.

"The Window Watchers" was one of the most intensely layered pieces I've ever created.  It was insanely difficult and insanely fun.

I think it may be my favorite piece ever!

I hope you like it too.

January Days and "The Window Watchers" ~

There's no better blue than the blue of a January sky ~

Chilly winds whip through the palm trees ~

Sometimes, January skies are dark with a whisper of Johnny Appleseed in the distance ~

I don't know why my mind has drifted to the sky today.  Maybe because January is slow and allows me to see....really see the Everyday things that sometimes go unnoticed.

Winter's garden can often go unnoticed.

Simple leaves and vines that hold the secret of summer's berries ~

Long days in the studio, uninterrupted ~

Listening to music ~

Inspired by old times, Victorian fashion and sepia tone photos from my own collection ~

This particular photo has been calling me to use it for several years.
I wanted to be sure the time was right~

I can't describe the feeling I get when I'm happy with my art.
When all the paint, pencil and cut-outs fit just perfectly ~

"The Window Watchers" (SOLD)

This piece has been a work in progress for quite some time.  The painting has been done for several months.  The image layering was intense and I think the most difficult piece, logistically, that I've ever created.

January days.
Slow.
Breezy.

Perfect for sky watching
Listening for garden secrets
and
long days in the studio.

Are you enjoying your January days?

A Humble Bouquet, Puppy Teeth and Studio Time ~

A new year.

Possibilities.

A fresh start.

I love this time between January 1st and Easter.

The garden offers little bits of color.

A humble winter's bouquet.  Scrubby and understated yet just as beautiful as a vibrant and buxom spring bouquet ~

Puppies!!!

Posing ~

Snarling ~

Cuddling ~

Always together.  Brother and Sister.
They've got each other's backs ~

Leaving sharp and jagged keepsakes on the floor.
I step on them sometimes.
My new collection.
Puppy Teeth ~

Colder and shorter days welcome me to stay indoors.

Luxurious hours spent on nothing more than a puzzle ~

Admiring my son's hard work ~

Decorating my studio.

An angel to watch over my desk.

Painted by my friend Shell ~

Inside days.

Working on art and dreaming about the future life of my garden.

First piece of art created in 2013 ~

Art filled with flowers, puppies and curiosity.

You can find this piece and more in my Art Shop.

Colder days, shorter days.  Breathing in the stillness and slowness.

Looking forward to the warmth of spring but savoring the turtle's pace of these winter days.
