January Days and "The Window Watchers" ~

There's no better blue than the blue of a January sky ~

Chilly winds whip through the palm trees ~

Sometimes, January skies are dark with a whisper of Johnny Appleseed in the distance ~

I don't know why my mind has drifted to the sky today.  Maybe because January is slow and allows me to see....really see the Everyday things that sometimes go unnoticed.

Winter's garden can often go unnoticed.

Simple leaves and vines that hold the secret of summer's berries ~

Long days in the studio, uninterrupted ~

Listening to music ~

Inspired by old times, Victorian fashion and sepia tone photos from my own collection ~

This particular photo has been calling me to use it for several years.
I wanted to be sure the time was right~

I can't describe the feeling I get when I'm happy with my art.
When all the paint, pencil and cut-outs fit just perfectly ~

"The Window Watchers" (SOLD)

This piece has been a work in progress for quite some time.  The painting has been done for several months.  The image layering was intense and I think the most difficult piece, logistically, that I've ever created.

January days.
Slow.
Breezy.

Perfect for sky watching
Listening for garden secrets
and
long days in the studio.

Are you enjoying your January days?

I love those days when everything works out in the studio.... Although for me that happens in my sewing room.

I adore bunnies. Love this new piece!
