Let's Have a Give-Away, Shall We?

Well, I think it's time for a give-away.

I haven't had one in quite a long while.  Mostly because people are still having trouble leaving comments on my blog.  But, I'm in the mood to give.

So....

Here's the thing.

I'm giving away a 4 print set called ~

"The Weeping Woman Series"

These are some of my favorite non-anthropomorphic pieces.  Yep...not a single animal head was used in the making of this set!

However, I did use my daughter.  She is the "Weeping Woman."

She is a fantastic model and is always game to participate in my silly art whims!

Give When You're Down ~

Okay...so, life has thrown some curve balls my way lately.  Actually, my life has been hit by an almost constant flow of curve balls since the beginning of 2008.  So many struggles and disappointments and really super scary stuff.  BUT....here I am. Still clinging and clawing and chugging along trying to make the best of my Everydays.

Truly, I have found that when times are hard and I'm struggling,  one of the best pick-me-ups is to give.  There are so many things my family and I have lost...and in that knowledge comes a desire to give to others.  Because really, little unexpected gifts can make a bad day better...it can throw a bit of sunshine on an otherwise dark time.  So...in the middle of my darkness, I'm having a giveaway.

This particular art giveaway is for a framed original.  It is a framed ACEO.  For those of you who might not be familiar with ACEOs.... (The acronym "ACEO" stands for Art Cards, Editions and Originals. They can be original art, print editions or photographs. ACEOs are miniature pieces of art that measure 2-1/2" x 3-1/2", the same size as a standard trading card).  The frame measures 7" x 9" and is wired for hanging.   This piece was in my "Connecting Spaces" show last Autumn.

This ACEO is entitled "The Reader".  It is a watercolor/collage...but I created it using Cabernet Sauvignon instead of water.  The dark red wine brings a nice depth to the watercolor.

Okay ~ One More Time With the Give-Away...

Hello There:

I can't believe I'm doing this again so soon.  I'm trying another give-away, but it will only run from now through tomorrow evening, Sunday August 28 at 7:00 pm pacific time.  The winner will be chosen at random and will be given the opportunity  to choose any two (4" x 6") prints from my Zibbet shop.  You don't need to have an account with Zibbet, it just happens to be the place where you can view my "inventory" of 4" x 6" prints.

The reason I'm hosting another give-away so soon after the last is because I have changed some settings on my blog.  I was finally able to speak with someone at blogger that, I think, actually straightened out my situation.  You see, over the last year or so, folks would come over to my blog, read it and try to leave a comment.  They weren't able to leave a comment, so they weren't able to participate in my give-aways.   This is really an experiment, and I'm hoping that the "comment situation" has finally been resolved.  If not, my give-aways will be hosted on my facebook page from now on.

Gonna Try This Again ~ Time For a Give-Away.

Hello There:

I haven't had a give-away on my blog for such a long time.  The last few times I hosted a give-away, they weren't successful, as none of my typepad friends were able to leave comments.  This has been a glitch with Blogger for well over a year now.  So, I've been hosting my give-aways on my Facebook Art Page.  

I really love blogging and I adore all the friends I've made through my blog....so, I'm going to host another give-away here on my blog.  I'll give it a whirl one more time.

This particular give-away is for my newest print set from my "fairy tales and nursery rhymes" series.  The winner will receive a 4" x 6" print of ~

October Give-Away ~ UPDATED

Good Morning:

Just a quick note to let you know that I am going to keep the give-away going for another few days. Something is terribly wrong with my blogger account and many people weren't able to leave a comment. I'm working through the problem with blogger...so, until I know exactly what's going on, I'll keep the contest up. Unfortunately only 13 people were able to leave comments. 2 of which I left for them. Hmmmm...

Looks like it's that time again ~ time for another give-away. Oh how I love doing give-aways. It's always nice to sell and show your art, but giving it away is something that truly makes me feel, somehow, worthwhile! Maybe I can bring a brief bit of happiness into someone's day when the mail arrives....opening up their mailbox to find a pleasant surprise instead of the daily bills and junk mail!

So, in honor of the spooky-ish Halloween season, I've decided to offer 6 ACEO prints that all have a dark or eerie feel about them. For those of you who may not know about ACEOs...they are collectible, small format art. They can be any medium or theme, but they must adhere to the size requirement of 2-1/2" x 3-1/2". They are the same size as a standard trading card.

All you have to do is leave a comment in the comment section. The winner will be chosen at random by my personal randomizer...my daughter Ava.
