An After Christmas Calm

As I sit at my computer, looking out to what has become a damp and sullen morning, I can feel a calmness all around. It is a soft and lazy time in our home...the time that falls between Christmas and New Year. The Christmas boxes are still stacked on the dining room table and half of the decorations have been taken down. What looked like this last week...

Now looks like this (yuck...I really think I hate those pillows)....

There are newly unwrapped books...

and toys... all about.

These are the last acceptable days for snacking on the sweets my daughter made...

And it's officially okay to take a "catnap" at any given time...

Our Christmas was quiet and fun. But, I must admit ~ our Christmas Eve started off with a glitch...

My husband was bit on top of the hand by a neighbor's dog. Look closely and you can see that the bite mark looks like it says the word "silly"...

His hand is healing nicely and the bruising and swelling have almost gone. It made for an unforgettable Christmas Eve!

I am looking forward to the new year, but as usual, I am a bit fearful as well. This family could use some easier times.

I am looking forward to getting back to work...

and back to my gardens...

I hope you are having a soft and lazy week as well.

I hope your husband's hand heals well. It is strange how it looks like the word silly!!!!

Treat yourself to some new pillows to bring a little smile.

I too am fearful for the new year, but let's make a pact together that we will be happy to face it and not hesitate to take time for creating!!!

All the best to you Kim!
